Wild Campervans USA Rental Terms for travel between 01-Apr-2009 and 31-May-2011
Definitions
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Wild Campers USA
- The Supplier means the operator of Wild Campers USA
- The Client is also referred to as the hirer or the renter
Once the Rental Agreement is signed, the Renter is responsible for the vehicle and any or all damage or loss Renter or others cause to the vehicle to the extent of their excess.
Rates Include:
* Third Party Insurance (Covers third party property and public liability to US$1,000,000)
* Standard vehicle insurance with excess of US$1,200.00(US$1700.00 for drivers between 21 and 25 years)
* 24 hour roadside assistance
* Free Additional drivers
Rates Calculation
Rates are calculated as per night. Where a rental crosses into another season, the rate will split to allow for the new season rate.
Payments
The initial booking deposit can be made using Visa or Mastercard only, The remaining balance payment can be made in U.S. Dollars in cash, MasterCard, Visa.
Cancellation Policy
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:

If the confirmed campervan booking is cancelled up to 18 days before pick up / rental commencement - no further charges apply.

If the confirmed campervan booking is cancelled within 17 Days of pick up or there is a no show, a further charge of 20% of the Gross Rental will apply
Booking amendments
It is possible to extend your rental without incurring a fee subject to availability.
It is possible to shorten your rental within 21 Days of pick up. Shortening a rental will be quoted as a new rental and will be calculated at the retail rate with any current specials not applicable.
Driver's License/Proof of Identification
All drivers must hold a valid driver's license for the entire rental period, plus have a major credit card.
Only drivers specified on the contract are allowed to drive the Supplier's vehicles. All specified drivers with their licenses must be present at time of vehicle pick up.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of Travel Insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking
Insurance for Campervans
Insurance is included in your cost of rental (included in daily rate). Comprehensive insurance covers third party property and public liability to US$1,000,000. The hirer is liable for the first US$1200.00 (US$1700.00 for drivers between 21 and 25 years) of any damage caused in any one accident.
Accident Excess
A credit card imprint with your Rental Agreement is all we require to cover the excess on your insurance (please see chart below).
This is not deducted from your bank account prior to your hire and is ONLY processed to cover any breakages, loss, fines or damage that occurs .
Excess (Deductible) Waiver
You can reduce the amount of the excess (the amount you are liable to pay in the event of an accident).

The Supplier strongly suggests taking one of the excess reduction options.
Where the 'Excess Waiver' option is taken, this applies to the first incident or accident only.
"Max collectable" is the maximum premium you will pay to reduce your liability. E.g. for a 50 day rental, ‘No worries cover (excess US$150) costs US$350 or US$7 per day.
Insurance-Exclusions
The renter is fully liable for any damage to the Supplier's campervan or third party property if:

The terms of the rental contract are breached.

If the driver is does not hold an appropriate driver’s licence.
-
Damage to the campervan is caused by careless, wilful or reckless driving.
-
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-
Driving on unsealed or restricted roads or restricted areas.
-
Water submersion or saltwater damage caused through own fault.
Hirer’s obligations and ‘Operator error’
The hire must maintain the water, oil and tire pressures during their journey.
Hirers will be fully accountable for, but not limited to the following:
Engine overheating, running out of oil, incorrect fuel put into vehicle, getting the vehicle stuck. Liability is total damage and expenses despite the excess amount listed on the rental agreement. (Excess relates to accident damage only)
Mechanical Repairs and Accidents
Contact the Supplier on our 24 hour free phone number if you have any problems or any irregularities develop with the camper. Failure to notify the Supplier immediately of any performance irregularities, or damage could affect liability grounds.
In the event of a breakdown the Supplier will either:

Provide a replacement vehicle

Refund the lost days use of the vehicle

Extend the hire to account for lost days
The renter will not undertake any repairs without first contacting the Supplier
There will be no refund for days lost, towing and any other expenses arising from ‘Operator error’. The Renter acknowledge that the Supplier will not be liable for retrospective claims due to vehicle malfunction or accident damage.
Minimum Age of Drivers
All drivers must be 21 years of age or older. Proof of age must be ascertained by a valid driver's license.
Additional Drivers
The Supplier's vehicles are designed for three-person travel and there is no additional charge for extra drivers.
Vehicle Pick Up and Drop Off
Vehicles are available for pick up between 11am and 4pm and must be returned by 10:00 a.m. on the agreed drop-off date. Late returns up to 3 hours will incur a prorated charge of the daily rate per hour the vehicle is dropped off late. A full-day rental charge will be applied once the vehicle is more than 3 hours late. No refunds will be granted for shortened rentals. There are no refunds for late pick up or early return of vehicles.
Minimum and Maximum Rental Period
The minimum rental period is 5 Days. There is no maximum rental period.
Mileage
No Free miles are included in the rates.
25c/Mile paid direct
100 prepaid miles $19.00 per every day of rental
200 prepaid miles $35.00 per every day of rental
Unlimited: $37.00 per every day of rental
State Tax
The Supplier charges 9.50% State Tax for Los Angles and Las Vegas, 9.75% for San Francisco.
Depot
The Supplier's primary depot is located at 4152 west 166th St, California, 90260.
Clients will collect their Campervan from this Location. the Supplier do offer pick ups from the Airport or Airport hotels for USD$20 per trip. (Up to 4 people)
The Supplier also offer remote Depots in Las Vegas and San Francisco. Please see the chart below for drop off charges and Minimum Rental periods.

Road Restrictions
Driving on unpaved roads (excluding county and state maintained roads), dirt roads, restricted areas and 'off road' areas is not allowed. Renter is liable for all damages to vehicle, tires, towing charges and other expenses as a result of a breakdown, collision, or other, associated with operating the Supplier's vehicles in these areas. The Supplier' insurance protection will also be null and void. The following are restricted areas:

Anywhere in Mexico.

Death Valley between the dates 1st March and 30th November

Any unimproved road, trail, track (excluding county and state maintained road)

Any off-road areas (dunes, beaches, riverbeds, logging roads, forest trails, dirt trails etc.)

Any Salt plains (incl Burning Man festival)
General Rules

Please do not smoke inside the Supplier' s vehicles.

No pets are allowed (except designated Service Dogs) in the vehicles.

All passengers must use seatbelts while vehicle is in motion.
-
The Supplier does not accept any liability for any injuries incurred to passengers travelling in the back of the vehicle and/or while not using seatbelts.
Airport Transfer:
You have an option to an Airport pick up at the time of booking. The cost for transfer from and to LAX is $20 (1-4 persons) This is also available for any Airport Hotel.
General Conditions
All rentals are subject to the terms and conditions of the Supplier's Rental Agreement. Any supplemental Rental Agreement. Rates, policies, terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. The Supplier assumes no responsibility for any detention, delay, loss, damage or injury that Renter might experience, no matter how it is caused or by whom.
Add Ons
Vehicle Preparation fee $100
It is a compulsory fee for all the rentals.
Starter pack
Starter pack is available at an additional cost. It includes the following items:
3 outdoor picnic chairs
All bedding (duvets/Comforter, sheets and pillows)
Heater
Extra Optional Accessories
GPS, Roof Storage box , Picnic table, Car Seat or booster seat, 2 person tent,, Solar shower, Awning, Snow chains.
All extras should be pre-booked to ensure availability

The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Please Note: The supplier does not have a physical location located in Las Vegas. Instead the Suppleir will arrange to meet you at your location within Las Vegas with your vehicle. Common areas serviced on site are Las Vegas Airport and Airport Area Hotels. Please give us your preferred pick up and drop off locations during the booking process if you have these details handy.

LAX Airport Pick Ups
You will be met at Los Angeles International Airport or at an Airport area hotel by a representative of the Supplier, they will have a sign with your name on it. From here you will be transferred by shuttle to the Supplier's Los Angeles depot at 4152 west 166th St, Lawndale Please provide your flight details at the time of booking or contact us as soon as possible after your booking has been confirmed to help us ensure your pick up service is smooth and successful.
Airport Drop offs
You are required to drop your vehicle off to the physical depot in Lawndale. From here your party (up to 3 people) will be transfreed by shuttle back to LAX Airport or AIrport area hotels.
Fees apply for both LAX pick ups and drop offs, these will be itemised in your final breakdown of pricing.
Late drop offs
Late returns of up to 3 hours will incur a prorated charge of the daily rate per hour the vehicle is dropped off late. A full-day rental charge will be applied once the vehicle is more than 3 hours late. No refunds will be granted for shortened rentals. There are no refunds for late pick up or early return of vehicles.
Downtown
There is no shuttle service available to or from Downtown area Hotels or other locations. Renters must make their own way to or from the depot at their own expense.
